South American beauty Carmelita De Córdoba, who is betrothed to an elderly Latin American, elopes with New York broker Dudley Drake; and after being disinherited by her father, she falls into the clutches of Rao-Singh, a crook masquerading as an Indian prince. When Carmelita seeks to repay her debt to him with money, he refuses her check and brands her as a cheat with his family crest. Carmelita retaliates by shooting him, then escapes. Dudley Drake arrives in time to take the rap, but he is acquitted when Carmelita shows the brand on her shoulder, and the courtroom mobs the bogus prince. AFI
